The workshop that aims to bring together political and social scientists doing empirical work, including descriptive, qualitative, correlational, and causal analysis, about artificial intelligence and large technological companies. There is little doubt that artificial intelligence will be a profoundly transformative technology with a huge potential for innovation, but there are growing concerns about the economic and political power of large technological firms, geopolitical risks, and various harms produced by digital technologies.

Workshop Format

The workshop will center on paper presentations, with ample time for feedback and networking. We will explore the possibility of proposing a special issue to an academic journal as an outcome of the workshop.
